It offers a detailed overview on everything related to VSM, from its origin to steps you should follow when carrying out a value stream map analysis. Just a few include the Parcel Forum, Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Promat, North American Material Handling, Modex, National Mfg Week, Southern California Plant Operations, NJ Material Handling Assoc., Applied Ergonomics, Warehousing Education & Research Council (WERC), Lean Manufacturing Conference, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), NeoCon, Health Information Distribution Association (HIDA), National Catalog & Operations (NCOF), CSCMP and more. This value stream mapping tutorial aims to help you familiarize yourself with the concept of value stream mapping. Romaine is a frequent editorial and information contributor to hundreds of publications, blogs and online publications and has been a speaker at dozens of Supply Chain, Logistics, Lean and Facility organizations and functions. He has also spearheaded the efforts to create the first ANSI industry safety standards for horizontal carousels. ![]() Within the industry trade association, MHI, Romaine has taken numerous leadership positions including: Chairman of the Automated Storage & Retrieval (AS/RS) Group, Chairman of the Order Fulfillment Council of America, Chairman of the Warehouse Execution Systems Group and was one of the originators of the Carousel and VLM Product Section Group. Focusing on the customer’s processes, automation and business model, Romaine has helped dozens of organizations improve profitability by reducing labor, floor space, errors and inventory while improving accuracy, inventory turns and cut-off times. Vertical Sequencing Module (VSM) Product Page: Multiple integrated modules operate together to allow totes to be buffered, sequenced and delivered as needed. This allows items to be stored and retrieved only when needed. Unlike Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs), the VSM delivers discrete totes not a tray full of totes. An inserter extractor runs down the center and retrieves each tote required and then delivered to the pick window or conveyor. The Vertical Sequencing Modules store totes of inventory (SKUs) on shelves in the front and rear of each tote. The VSM also allows growing operations to utilize its capacity rather than growing equipment and floor space. The VSM is buffering the item and will deliver it without involving other technologies. ![]() The VSM will cost-effectively improve the performance of existing technologies by allowing them to work: in off times, reduce travel time and movement, eliminate activities. This Vertical Sequencing Module (VSM) Video demonstrates buffering and sequencing orders which will improve your facilities efficiencies. Vertical Sequencing Module Video Description:
